This tool is mainly for "technical people" like network administrators and software engineers, who are familiar with various domain-related details. While the number of details provided by URL Discombobulator is quite small, the program can still be used to get basic details of a website.
The process of finding out a server's IP or various IPs for a website is very easy: one just needs to type or paste a URL in the given space and press the "discombobulate" button. This tool can provide information about website redirections and protocols used, along with pages or files provided by the site. This tool also manages to provide information about ASCII codes.
A tab called TLDs gives a complete list of Top Level Domain data, by using which one can easily know the meaning of various web suffixes like .COM, .NET and so on. The information displayed in the URL Discombobulator can be copied or exported to various files if needed. Clicking on the "Visit Site" button is supposed to launch a browser with the selected site opened; however, it takes too long to open the browser with this tool. Apart from this minor issue, however, there is hardly anything wrong with the program. |
